During my career in advertising, marketing and public relations I took college courses to gain information about job requirements. During this time I attended: the University of Arizona and Arizona State University, El Camino College in Manhattan Beach, California, USC, UCLA, and Palomar College in San Marcos, California
Experience
I tutored writing for the Palomar College English Department Writing Center for ten years. As a teacher's aide in an elementary school, I worked with students who needed help with reading, writing and spelling and I devised a way to help the students write and publish their first book of fiction short stories. I have worked in the advertising business and as a freelance nonfiction writer. In addition, I reported and wrote business and special interest features for a local newspaper winning seven journalism awards. In 2005, 2013 and 2016 I published books of fiction and am currently writing a fourth book, a novel. I love tutoring students and helping them improve their writing skills.The process is gratifying for me to see them grow in writing ability beyond their expectations.

Hobbies
I read anything and everything, and always have a book or two to recommend regardless of a student's age. I love dogs and cats and all creatures, but especially dogs. I like well-written movies and TV shows. I have visited several foreign countries in which I now have friends, and I speak a little Spanish, French, Italian, and Japanese. Finally, I believe that written communication is the key to knowledge because sharing what you know in writing opens doors to friendship and to the world in general.
