Education

My college career began at Mira Costa Community College in Oceanside, California. I attended for a year and mostly took basic GE courses. I did well, averaging a 3.6 GPA. After that, I left college for a year to do some soul searching and decided to attend San Diego Christian College in Santee in 2012. While there, I had the opportunity to study abroad, which I did, allowing me to spend a semester studying at the University of Oxford in England. I graduated San Diego Christian College in Spring of 2015 with my BA in English, Magna cum Laude (3.8 GPA). In the fall, I will begin a teacher credential/masters dual program.

Experience

I was recommended by my professors to work in the Writing Lab based on my writing skills. I worked there for two years, editing and helping my fellow student with their essays. I am familiar with editing MLA and APA formatting, English grammar and mechanics, as well as style and techniques for better writing. I also assisted an online professor in grading her student's papers for grammar, mechanics, and formatting. I received high marks in all of my college courses, especially in those that involved literature and writing.

Hobbies

I'm sort of an odd person, though you probably wouldn't think it to look at me. I'm petite (meaning I'm in my 20's and most people think I'm in my teens) and tend to be quiet (not shy, and by no means am I a push-over), but I am very friendly, personable, and extremely passionate about my field (being English language and literature. I love it so much it's almost embarrassing). However, my hobbies/interests range anywhere from hiking and horseback riding to reading and writing. I am also a self-proclaimed and avid nerd claiming an affiliation with many fan-bases. I love animals, England, traveling, libraries, flowers, words, sentences... the list goes on. More than anything, though, I am also an aspiring teacher, and I would love to be able to gain experience and skills by tutoring.
